Inspiron 1720/1721-Notebook-

Title: Dell 1720 17"
Pros- no bloatware! a refreshing absence of junk software on hard drive
- solid construction, heavier than other notebooks (except for keyboard)
- nice rubberized top layer, allows a good grip when holding laptop
- all OS and program CD's are included
- very quiet, I use it on my home-theatre no problem
- numeric keypad
- timely delivery of product as promised - good packaging
Cons- plasticky feel to keyboard
- heavier than other brands (however this is also due to better construction of power supply, cooling, etc.)

Additional Thoughtstry to get it on sale, watch their website often:
I ordered mine with these options:
- bigger hard drive
- faster video (for some game playing)
- webcam
- 9-cell battery

1720 Review
ProsMany customizable features and available upgrades for a reasonable price
Number keypad
Remote control is a nice touch that I didn't expect, almost missed it
Seems so far that the build quality and performance are very respectable
Custom colors is a nice touch
Constouchpad way off center- seems a bit awkward
too much bloatware pre-installed, annoying and hard to get rid of. It should be on a CD that user can install if desired
really big and heavy- though i guess it's positioned more as a desktop replacement so should be expected. The unusual thing though is that despite the size they couldn't find a way to have a high capacity battery that doesn't protrude from the back.
Available blu-ray and good graphics performance with no high def video output? what were they thinking?
Long delivery times but I was aware of it going in and actually got it sooner than i expected
